REPORTING PUPIL PROGRESS

All possible and necessary contact between teacher and parent is invited and encouraged. For this purpose parent-teacher conferences are held. The Home/School Society also offers an opportunity to meet and converse with the children's teachers.

Report cards are issued four times during each school year. Please refer to the school calendar for specific times and dates of the above.

At St. Paul's we use the letter grades: A (superior), B (above average), C (average), D (below average), and F (failing). A child who consistently gets D or F grades may be retained. Sometimes the child is moved on to the next grade, but for various reasons has neither mastered nor completed the previous grade's requirements. Retaining in the same grade would not help this child. If in successive grades the quality of work does not improve, a certificate of attendance, rather than a diploma, will be issued at the end of eighth grade.

CHRISTIAN COUNSELING

Our Christian Day School is happy to make available to our families the services of trained professional counselors who are staff members of Wisconsin Lutheran Christian Counseling. The WLCC counselors in our area are available to consult with parents, pupils, and teachers about troubling situations. Early discussion and understanding, together with clarifying some of the issues, can help all in our school family to resolve upsets in family and school life.

Families or individuals wishing to meet with a WLCC counselor may contact the teacher, principal, or WLCC directly at WLCC / Fort Atkinson, 600 Highland Ave., Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin (414) 563-8680.

BAND AND CHORISTERS

A band program is available to students in fifth through eighth grade. A meeting of all students interested in joining the band and their parents, is held each year to select the instrument the child wishes to play. Band rehearsals are held at designated times. The parents are expected to attend Music Parents meetings when scheduled. Parent help is needed at concerts and at the instrumental competition in the spring.

A choral program is also available for students in fifth through eighth grade. The Choristers perform in two concerts each year here at St. Paul's as well as participating in a yearly fine arts competition at Lakeside Lutheran High School. The group also sings for worship services about three to four times each year.
