Getting To Know Us
As you approach the main entrance to our new addition to our church, you will see a cornerstone with these words on it: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone.
These six words express what is at the heart of our faith. “Grace Alone” means we are saved only by God’s grace – his undeserved love – and not because we have earned or deserved it. “Faith Alone” means that we trust in Christ alone for our salvation and not in our good works. “Scripture Alone” means that the Bible is completely true and the only infallible guide in our relationship to God.
While much has changed at St. Paul’s over the years, our message has stayed the same. We communicate a changeless Christ to a changing world. Recent changes at St. Paul’s are the Escape Teen Center which opened on Nov. 7th , 2007; and our Noah’s Ark Children’s Ministry area, which opened in October, 2010, on the lower level of our new addition.
St. Paul’s offers a wide variety of ministries to people of all ages. We have an intensive Children’s ministry in Heart Land Preschool and our Lutheran Elementary School as well as before and after school care, Sunday School, and Girl and Boy Pioneers. Our ministry to teens – middle-school and high school - in our community and church is staffed by a full-time director, Sy Vanissaveth and a part-time assistant director, Mike Gallun.
We have a specialized ministry to the developmentally disabled in our Jesus Cares program. We offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to Hispanics in the community. We have a shepherding program where every ten individuals or families are adopted by a shepherd. We have a delicious menu of Bible classes led by our pastors and special guest teachers.
The six words on the face stone – as you enter our new addition - are at the heart of everything we do. We have a great message to share and God has given us a great place to share it in. We hope that you can come and visit us sometime.
